I am a counselor who works with individuals and families in Benton County, Oregon. I have a great respect and appreciation for the subjective world of my clients and for their commitment to seek counseling. I believe that most everyone can benefit from counseling and while I also believe that unconscious forces, past events, and socio-cultural conditioning can influence and even direct our lives, I also believe that given reasonable opportunities and/or support, individuals are inclined to free themselves from most restraints. I employ an eclectic and flexible approach to my work in order to best meet the needs of my clients. Some of my preferred orientations include humanistic, cognitive behavior, and existential theory. I also believe that my clients are entitled to be informed consumers. I am therefore happy to offer options, when appropriate, as to how we might work together and to demystify the experience of counseling and/or therapy when clients are so interested.
